Help Us Share the Power of Reading This Giving Tuesday!

Our goal is simple: to ensure that every child has access to books that reflect their world, offer a lens into other worlds, and spark confidence. This mission drives our work every day at the Indiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Books can transform a child’s experience, nurture their sense of identity, and strengthen families. Early reading also makes a profound difference—children whose families begin reading together from the very start are better prepared for school and for lifelong learning.

That’s why we’re launching our Giving Tuesday challenge, focused on getting more children and families reading together right from the beginning.

Be an Early Supporter!

Your tax-deductible donation will help provide books to children who need them most. Will you be an early supporter of our Giving Tuesday campaign? Give here

This year, our challenge centers around Be You! by Peter H. Reynolds. We are truly grateful for your partnership. Over the past year, you—and supporters like you—have helped millions of families experience the magic of reading together.

Why Be You!?

This inspiring book encourages children to be adventurous, persistent, brave, and proud of who they are—messages that feel especially meaningful today. Through its warm words and inclusive illustrations, Be You! opens conversations about kindness, resilience, and the unique qualities that make each child extraordinary.

We are thrilled that this powerful story was recently recognized by Scholastic and Reach Out and Read as the winner of the 2025/26 Judy Newman Book Award, an honor given to books that resonate deeply with families.

Your Gift Makes an Immediate Impact

A gift made today will put this meaningful book into the hands of children who need it most, opening doors to imagination, learning, and shared moments of connection.

Will you make an early Giving Tuesday gift and help us continue this work into 2026? Your support places the right book into the hands of a child who needs to hear: “Be proud of who you are.”

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every child knows that their story matters. Together, we can help every child discover the joy—and power—of reading.
