Accurate Vaccine Information for Parents, Patients, and Colleagues

As you likely know, the CDC website now promotes false claims that vaccines may cause autism. There is no link between vaccines and autism. This false association has been thoroughly investigated and debunked multiple times. However, the element of doubt added by a formerly credible website may well result in patients having concerns about vaccines and autism.

All major medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, have condemned this change on the CDC website, and reiterated that an abundance of evidence from decades of scientific studies shows no link between vaccines and autism.

If parents ask about vaccine safety in children, or colleagues ask for resources in this area, a good source for accurate information is the AAP’s healthy children.org website. You can provide parents the accurate vaccine schedule for children at the AAP Vaccine Schedule website.

We remain committed, and will always be committed, to evidence-based medicine that provides the best care and disease prevention for children.
